Better Cotton Initiative (BCI)

Wendler becomes officially member of BCI (Better Cotton Initiative)

We are pleased to announce that our Wendler Interlining Group – under the name of the Holding GEDER GmbH - has been successfully registered as official member of BCI (Better Cotton Initiative). The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) is a global not-for-profit organisation and the largest cotton sustainability programme in the world. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Since February 2021, we thus belong to an exclusive circle of companies in the textile and apparel segment that qualified for the membership. We have already applied for and received the first larger volume of BCCUs (= Better Cotton Claim Units) for our customers.

With our inclusion and our commitment to drive the cotton sector towards sustainability we solidify our first-class position as interlining supplier to the global garment industry. The BCI membership is a common success of all contributors within our international Wendler Interlining Group. Thank you for the great cooperation and joint development in the area of sustainability.
