- Collar skin should not be lighter than the collar patch.
- Collar band must support the top collar.
- Business shirts typically use a collar patch.
- Cuff interlining can often match the collar skin.
- Collar skin, collar patch, and cuffs are usually cut in warp direction.
- Collar bands can be cut in warp or bias direction.
- Formal shirts may use heavier interlinings cut on the bias.
