Social commitment

We turn words into deeds! Together with our employees, we are involved in lots of smaller and bigger social projects around the world.

We take responsibility

For our social projects, we prefer to engage locally, directly in the regions of our sites. We can take an active part in the processes while providing sustainable support and long-term benefits to the people living here.

Wendler Support & YWCA Free School Bangladesh

Wendler Interlining Bangladesh is deeply committed to corporate social responsibility through our “Wendler Support” program. Recently, we held an event at the YWCA Free School, a global NGO dedicated to social and community development, where we distributed sustainable water bottles and healthy snacks to underprivileged students. This initiative aims to raise environmental awareness while promoting the well-being of the children.

Our CEO, Mr. Frank Sailer, personally took the time to hand out the gifts and engage in dialogue with the students. This direct involvement underscores our commitment to supporting today’s youth, thereby nurturing the responsible citizens of tomorrow.

We take pride in our partnership with the YWCA Free School and in making a sustainable, positive impact on the community. Together with this NGO, we are dedicated to fostering a brighter future and enhancing the vital role of NGOs in social development.

Giving cleft children in Vietnam a smile again

We have decided to support the work of "German Cleft Children's Aid Association", especially in Vietnam, as we have a special connection to this country through our economic commitment and our newly built factory (2020). We chose this project because it not only gives cleft children access to safe, high-quality and comprehensive treatment, but also offers them the chance of social acceptance, a "normal" childhood and the opportunity to attend school. In this way, we can give the children a smile again and the prospect of a better life. Website: www.spaltkinder.org

Quality Education for Deprived Children in Northern Bangladesh

We support a project for disadvantaged children in Northern Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a country of potential: Over 160 million people live in Bangladesh. Even its economy is developing positively during the last years, yet 2.6 million children have not any access to education. On average, young people at public schools hardly learn to read and write properly. Especially the Northern region is neglected. The poorest regions of the country are at the border to Assam/India where the infrastructure is insufficient, flood control lacking and education is poorly available.

We fully support Childaid Network. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing good quality education for deprived children in this region. With the latest Childaid Network project in Bangladesh

  • 18.000 children will receive access to good education
  • 60 schools will be equipped with learning material and books
  • 240 teachers are being trained

The school project will be funded 2019-2022 with a total of 666.667 Euros. Every Euro from Childaid Network is hereby quadrupled by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.

In celebration of the 175 years jubilee of the Wendler company (2018) we have contributed € 17.500 to this school project in Bangladesh. Hereby we want to support the access to education for children who, through more knowledge and skills, have better life perspectives. Below you can download the latest project report.
